Water Sprites & Faerie

The New Moon in Cancer begins today July 9th at 9:16 pm. This New Moon is the first one after Eclipse season, if you remember what Eclipse season felt like <insert fireball emoji>, this will feel fresh! If you are looking to set new intentions and new beginnings, the New Moon is the perfect time to start. A little about the Cancer, Cancer is ruled by the Moon, its element is Water and the keyword is “Feeling”. Keeping all of this in mind, I wanted to create a Ritual that you could harness all of the the New Moon in Cancer energies and be able to look back on to start anytime, Plus- I’ve been dying to share my love for the Fae!!!

Connecting with Faerie realm is one I cherish deeply. Attuning with these elemental beings requires an open heart, respect, patience and honesty. Specifically, I will be talking about Water Sprites, Spirits and Nymphs to go along with this watery new moon.

I find so much solace in water, a hot shower is so healing to me ,sometimes I think of it as the embryonic space I once lived. However water has two sides, it is both healing and nurturing or can be destructive and catastrophic. Connecting with Water spirit will help with the fluidness of life and to connect with your Solar Plexus Chakra. The solar plexus is also ruled by water, our creative, feminine, duality center. Anything of water implies connection to fluidness, emotions and the feminine aspects of life. Through water spirits we can learn to use our emotional forces more appropriately, we can develop our intuition and creative imaginations. We open ourselves to healing and to the development of our psychic nature. All water spirits can teach us about our inner feelings and Fae remind us to be playful!

There are many kind of water spirits and nymphs , some may be considered tricky, most however adjust their behaviour and manner to the humans they encounter. If treated with courtesy and honesty they will return the same. They also vary in size and form, they can be the size of a droplet of water, like our tears even, or they may encompass an entire body of water. Water spirits are rarely solitary and unless they are comfortable with you , you will not find them alone.

You can connect in a few ways, 1) leave your home and finding a pond, riverbank, lake or ocean, any body of water where you can get close to so that you can commune with them 2) collect rainwater in a dark bowl to work with from home

Find a position where you’ll be undisturbed and be able to look into the water. Close your eyes and relax, do a brief meditation to harmonize to nature ( You can use a song from my Water Fae Spotify playlist )

Make several passes over the water with your left hand. This serves as gesture of invitation and imparts sensitivity to the water.

Be patient and concentrate when gazing into the water. Don’t stare intensely but allow your gaze to be soft and half- focused, as if you were staring blankly and daydreaming

At first,, the change will vary. You may see a fogginess, like clouds passing by, thats positive , it means the door is open! Eventually, colors, images, faces and entire scenes will come. Each time you use your rain bowl, the visions of the faerie realm will increase. And you will see this pool as a doorway created especially for you.

Another way to connect is by listening to fairytales about water faerie near a lake, pond, etc.. I’ve attached a favorite one below. *Faerie like offerings, if you pick some wildflowers you can throw the pedals on the water for them, and they like shiny things, like coins.
