New Moon Aries

With the New Moon falling on my birthday this year,Sunday April 11 at 10.31 PM est, I’m going to claim the extra powerful manifestation energy it holds for me! But, this New Moon holds special manifestation energy for you too! This lunar cycle is in the First Zodiac sign Aries, which means it’s the perfect time to let your inner warrior out!!! Aries is a sign that holds the energies of courage, passion, willpower and optistism, Aries are assertive, fearless and risk takers -Yes, sometimes these things at a fault, but we’re all trying to find balance, right!?

Questions to ask yourself: What seeds have you been planting? What do you need in order to get you to the next level? Have you been wanting to take a leap but aren’t sure how it will work out— take the leap! Go on an adventure! Use the energy of Aries to follow your heart and claim what the universe has in store for you!

Here’s what I’m using: Rose of Jericho, Filtered Water/Holy Water/ or Rain Water and Large Bowl, Coins.

A little about the Rose of Jericho , a desert plant, which grows and reproduces in a desert region until the environment is no longer suitable(no water), then they’ll retract their roots and allow the wind to carry them across the desert until they arrive in a place where they can continue to grow and spread(I love this Energy!) They may stay for a while or move many times. This is how its got its nickname, “The Resurrection Plant” , being able to survive dry but when placed in water, the Rose of Jericho opens to beautiful vibrant green fern like leaves. Its ability to consistently come back to life is what gives this plant its magical and spiritual properties. This plant has a long spiritual history, from Judaism to Wicca, but in the Western Hemisphere, this plant is most commonly used by Indigenous peoples, in Hoodoo and Santeria: to ward off the evil eye, for abundance, to make magical water and many other uses!

For this New Moon ritual, I will honor all those who came before me and as always, use the Rose of Jericho with great respect.

Here’s what to do:

Always clear your space with sound or burning sage/frankincense before ritual.

In your chosen vessel, put a enough of the Filtered Water/Holy Water or Rain Water at the bottom, that it will be able to touch the bottom of the plant (about 1-2 inches) We want to slowly open the plant and not drench it with the water. ( I will also be adding a 1/4 of Rose Water)

Hold the Rose of Jericho in both of your hands for a few minutes, take this moment to feel the energy of the plant before putting it into its vessel. Sit and Meditate with the plant, set your intention and express your gratitude.

Place the Rose of Jericho into your vessel. In 3 to 7 days, change the water and each time you can add a little more fresh water, but be sure to save the water in a clean vessel -that you can close-like a mason jar. This water is now charged and can be used to anoint jewelry, clean your home of negativity, bless yourself or others.

You can also place coins in the bowl for prosperity or lay crystals on the plant to charge, if you use coins, I recommend disinfecting them first as coins are both filthy with dirt and peoples energies. I will also be writing my intention and putting the paper under the vessel, so the Rose of Jericho sits atop it.

I would ideally do this until the next Full moon and then take the Rose of Jericho out of water and allow it to dry again, but I will be able to do it for the next 11 days.

Everyday for the next 11 days, I will meditate over or near the plant, remembering my intention, visualizing and expressing my gratitude for what I have.

With the water I collect, I will anoint crystals that I work with, jewelry, myself and I’ll clean my home!
